We have been invited to participate in Flavors of San Francisco 2013, the gala kick-off ceremony for San Francisco Small Business Week, and we need your help. In order to complete our application to participate in the event, we need to confirm 2 to 5 restaurants or bars from our neighborhood. Each participating restaurant will be asked to contribute a minimum of 600 bites for the event. This is a great opportunity to represent our community at the largest Small Business Event of the year.

We'd like to welcome our organizations's newest member: Root Division, a visual arts non-profit that connects creativity and community by cultivating an ecosystem of arts education, exhibitions, and studios. Root Division provides subsidized studio space to working artists in exchange for their service in creating shared learning opportunities for the community. Artists develop creatively and professionally by teaching art to underserved youth, leading adult education classes, and producing exhibitions that showcase local emerging artwork. We'd like to welcome our organizations's newest member: Salumeria, a deli and larder that takes inspiration from the artfully crafted cured meats of Italy and integrating these recipes with local ingredients. Salumeria aims to showcase a selection of house-made salumis and prosciuttos with a California sensibility. Mayor Lee just announced a new online tool: License 123, an easy-to-use, free online portal that helps new businesses navigate the City’s permitting and licensing requirements. License 123 allows entrepreneurs and small business owners to access permits and licenses on one convenient site, instead of contacting several City agencies, as they open a new business in San Francisco. 

In addition to License 123, businesses can still receive customized, one-on-one assistance from the Office of Small.  Services are available by phone, walk-in, and by appointment, M-F, 8am-5pm, at City Hall, Room 110.  To schedule an appointment, please call 415-554-6134, or email, sbac@sfgov.org.  All services are available in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Spanish.
